The Supreme Court (or SCOTUS, or The SCOTUS with the MOSTUS) has come out with plans to take on the issue of same-sex marriage. But wait! It gets better.
The court will be hearing not one but two constitutional challenges to state and federal law.
From CNN‘s senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin:
This is a major event in American history, not just in Supreme Court history. The Supreme Court is not just going to decide whether the Defense of Marriage Act is constitutional, they are also going to decide whether Proposition 8 in California – whether the ban on same-sex marriage there is unconstitutional and that could affect all 50 states.
A major event in American history, indeed.
When called for comment, the gay community sung a collective, “It’s raining constitutional justice! Hallelujah!”

Seems to me that not even this conservative court could uphold a statute that clearly discriminates against one particular group. However, one never knows what twisted logic may be applied.
