(UN General Assembly) – Palestinians across their militarized territory and the world celebrated yesterday as the UN General Assembly voted 138 to 9 (with 41 states abstaining) to upgrade the Palestinian’s status from an observer to non-member observer state.
The United States, Israel and Canada were among the dissenters, citing “Bros before hoes,” before realizing the expression doesn’t translate well in Arabic, nor accurately apply to the Palestinian vote.
The Christian Science Monitor reports the new status changes jack shit when it comes to statehood, developing a unified army or police. It does, however, allow Palestinian officials to challenge Israeli settlement-building in the West Bank amongst other legal kerfuffles.
In response to vote, Israeli officials are pissed. Palestinian officials are pissed Israelis are pissed, saying it’s Israel’s fault for pissing off Palestinians, thus leading to Palestinians pissing off Israelis at the UN.
It all hints to a continuation of the decades-long pissing crisis of the Middle East.
