Fiery Congressman Allen West has finally — finally — conceded to Democratic Congressman-elect Patrick Murphy after nearly two weeks of calling foul.
West’s defeat gives the former military man a quick exit from the United States House of Representatives after serving Florida for just one two-year term. He will not be missed.
In his brief Congressional career, West made headlines for screaming. Lots and lots of screaming. He cried “communist” nearly every chance he got, playing up to his base of far right ideologues who still think President Obama has yet to reveal his evil plans to transform the United States to a socialist atheist theocracy. “Just wait for the next four years!”
Again, West will not be missed. Although Murphy is only known on the national landscape because of this contest, he is at the very least not Congressman West. So long as Murphy does not constantly refer to those who disagree with him as teabagging teabaggers who love to teabag teabaggers, then he’ll come off as a more sensible Congressman than West ever did.
West left his departing words in a Facebook post, but a more enlightening insight into the outgoing Congressman’s mindset is revealed in what we at MildlyRelevant.com suppose his thoughts really are.
