The Obama campaign released a Sesame Street-themed ad earlier today, highlighting Mitt Romney’s comments at the first debate saying he’d cut PBS’ funding.
The ad mockingly depicts Big Bird as worse than Wall Street’s financial evil-doers. Problem is, the ad goes against the non-partisan spirit of Sesame Street. So unsurprisingly, Sesame Street has publicly asked the Obama campaign to take the ad down.
Why the Obama campaign would think this would fly is incomprehensible. Unfortunately, the reality that this campaign has boiled down to a pro/anti-puppet debate is predictable.
