The following is a response sent to MildlyRelevant.com by carrier pigeon from the Romney campaign.
What an outlandishly unfair attack by the Obama team.
The Huffington Post reported on a comment made by Obama’s Chief of Talk Show Appearances, David Axelrod, where the aforementioned word-slayer attacked Romney for his alleged attack against teachers, fireman and policemen.
“We’re not going to win, and our kids aren’t going to win, unless we invest in education,” Axelrod told host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week.
Responding to President Obama’s now infamous comment that the private sector is doing “just fine,” Romney pounced saying, “[President Obama] says we need more firemen, more policemen, more teachers,” declaring that grocery list of publicly-funded goodness against what the American people want.
Seriously. Who wants some copper patrolling the neighborhood? How am I supposed to make a getaway after a successful bank heist with Officer McLaw hounding my every move? No thank you.
But the suggestion that the American people don’t want more teachers is what really irked Mr. Axelrod. “…I would suggest he’s living on a different planet if he thinks that’s a prescription for a stronger economy.”
Of course. First the Democrats mock Romney’s $50 bajillion dollar mansion in Southern California with an upcoming car elevator. Now they’re attacking his pristine, icecap-front property on Mars. Don’t they understand how difficult it is to maintain a property on the Red Planet, what with the Martian economy in the tank? Sure, liberals attacked President Bush’s lack of immediate response to the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina, but Obama has yet to raise a finger over Mars’ latest dust storm.
If anything, those “poor” Americans with post-industrial wasteland-front properties are the ones to envy. So much less to maintain!

Perhaps, if Mitt took a short trip to Mars, we’d all be better off.
