Ted Nugent’s “Dead Or In Jail” Comment Catches Secret Service’s Attention

There’s nothing violent about thinly veiled threats against the President of the United States. That is, according to outspoken guns advocate, Ted Nugent, who we were surprised to learn is still considered a “rock star.”

Nugent spoke at the National Rifle Association conference last week in St. Louis and said he would be “dead or in jail” next year if Obama is re-elected. But who are we to assume those are violent threats against the president? Perhaps he’s planning a hunger strike to protest the slaughtering of whale sharks that might leave him dead due to malnourishment or in jail if his location of protest is on private property – decisions he’s inexplicably connecting to Obama’s potential re-election. I don’t know. I’m just spit ballin’ here with ideas as ridiculous as the man himself.

Apparently the Secret Service, fresh off a Colombian prostitution scandal, wasn’t a fan of Mr. Nugen’ts comments.

“We are aware of the incident with Ted Nugent, and we are conducting appropriate follow-up,” said spokesman Brian Leary in a statement. “We recognize an individual’s right to freedom of speech but we also have a responsibility to determine and investigate intent.”

Nugent told Glenn Beck he was contacted by the Secret Service and will meet with them shortly. The alleged “rock star” will presumably offer a freshly slaughtered squirrel’s head as a token of peace.
