Two Ohio political stories, two days in a row! I’m sure all of my non-Ohio readers are absolutely thrilled…
Lee Fisher, Democrat in Ohio running for the U.S. Senate, is a strong advocate for bringing jobs to Ohio – as is every politician for their state ever in the history of the world. So one would think he’d hire an Ohio law firm to handle his campaigns legal work. No? How about… Seattle.
Yes, in a move akin to bailed out executives flying on private jets and Republicans talking fiscal responsibility at their Hawaii retreat, Lee Fisher forgot that appearances matter when in the public eye. For instance, you can’t say you’re for main street and be linked to corporate execs. You can’t fly on private jets to your congressional hearing regarding your bailout money, and you certainly cannot f*ck around on your wife while running for office (pulling an Edwards, eh?).
Granted Fisher’s “oopsie” didn’t break any marriage vows, but it just shows how dimwitted these folks can be sometimes.
To justify the move, a Fisher spokesman called the Seattle law firm, “…one of the best firms in the nation when it comes to expertise in federal election law.” Because Ohio law firms are apparently on par with kids shoving crayons up their nose.
